"Special" Christmas

Merry Christmas everyone. It turned out to be a White Christmas after all. Finally after suffering through all of Christmas Eve and most of Christmas day with the wind, it finally started snowing between 8:30 and 9:00 p.m.

We had a full day of fun with family and friends. Our day started around 8:00 a.m. when Rylee woke me up. She opened her presents with her friend Christian watching closely to see if she would get the most coveted thing on her list .... a Nintendo DS (Pink). Yes, she did get it and it is pink. She received 2 games with it too. One is a 4 in (Battleship, Connectfour, Trouble & Sorry) and the other is a Spanish skills game and to my surprise, she is more interested in the Spanish game. She has found a word search game on it that she really enjoys. She received presents from her aunts, uncle and friends that she loved very much. I am attaching a few pictures from Christmas Eve and Christmas Day.

Rylee and her Nintendo Ds (Pink) Christmas morning. Christian is hiding he would not let me take a picture of him.

Daddy is helping Taylor open her present.

The girls gave Krystal and Carlene a blanket for Christmas

Kasey and TJ picked out the perfect shirt for Rylee ...IT'S ALL ABOUT ME MYSELF AND I
Carlene is in the background checking out the size.

Kasey laid down on the floor to rest, however as you know there is never any rest for mothers. Taylor thought it was the perfect chance to climb on mommy. She is just so darn cute I couldn't resist I had to take a picture of the two of them.

Before eating I decided to have a drink with Julio, Camille and Paco. Camille was so kind to take a picture of Paco and I. I think this is the only picture we have of the two of us together. Not really the best picture of me.
(Me and Paco our First Christmas)

I made Christmas dinner and it was not traditional we had pot roast, red potatoes and carrots. Kasey, TJ, Taylor, Krystal and Carlene all attended. It was a good time for everyone. Rylee decided to spend the night with Krystal and Carlene. I decided to go out with my friends Julio, Camille and Paco to visit our neighbors Nate and Alicia at her parents house (Mike and Tracy). We drank a couple of beers and had a couple of shots then decided to come home.

However, before we decided to come we had already received about 6 inches of snow. Good thing we had that snow blower. I also tried my luck at Guitar Hero ... no I am not very good at it. It is fun though.

All in all I would say it was a good Christmas even though we had to spend it without Nana and Papa this year. I think we made it "special" in our own way. We still missed and wished you could have been here. However, I understand that we need to make our own traditions with our families. Merry Christmas and Happy New Year. Love ya.

Christmas Eve

Today is Christmas Eve ... I had to work until 1:00 p.m. only I worked a little longer than that as usual. Wow it sure was busy at the stores. Rylee and I stopped at Albertson's to pick up a couple of prescriptions and I thought we were never going to get out of there. We had dinner at Kasey and TJ's house. Kasey did a very a good job on dinner, it was delicious. We let the kids open a few presents and then returned home to wait for Santa to show up at our house. Rylee is very excited this year as she is hoping to get a Nintendo DS. I guess we will all have to wait and see. Good night and Merry Christmas.

Taylor and her cast

Well Taylor now has a cast and it is purple, here it is. Poor thing I guess she has a little walking boot too, but she doesn't like it. She would rather walk on her heel. She has been a little scared to walk at all, because of the pain. Luckily she only has to wear it for 3 weeks. I love you my little Tator Bug get better soon.
Love ya, Aunt Mim

Office Holiday Luncheon

On December 19, 2008 our office celebrated its annual holiday luncheon. It was catered and we enjoyed the lunch at the office. Everyone thought the food was delicious. Some people like Angie and Julie E. were not happy that I brought my camera to document the momentous occasion. I had a really cute picture of them together, however when Julie stole my camera to take pictures of me, she deleted it. Well that is the last time I ever trust her with my camera. Well I think that Nate did a really good job at picking out a caterer for this little shin dig and I would like to say thank you. The weather was horrible that day so everyone was very grateful that we did not need to travel out of the office for this very lovely luncheon. Saundra, Jodie and I sat at the kids table (not really), but it was a secluded table just for the three of us and we enjoyed it. Sometimes you just can't stand to sit by certain people and when it is crowded, I would rather be with the ones I love.

The Holiday luncheon ended with everyone filling full and running back to their desks to work.....ha ha. I think everyone tried to finish up early and head home as the weather outside was frightful. I unfortunately had to wait for Rylee to return to school from her field trip with her after-school program. She went to the Clark Planetarium. Yes, she had a good time even if she did fall asleep during the movie (I guess she takes after her cousin Caralee). Finally, I was able to pick her up from school around 6 p.m. We stopped at Arby's for a bite to eat then traveled home safely, but not before stopping off at WalMart to do a little shopping.

Earlier I received a call from my sister Kasey letting me know that my niece had fallen while at the chiropractor's office with her husband's parents and cracked her shin. She said that they were on their way to the IHC to have a splint put on her leg for the weekend, then on Monday they would put a cast on it.

Early Christmas @ Nana & Papa's House

You may notice a few changes if you visited earlier, that is all thanks to my friend Camille. She helped me out a lot last night. I am not so sure her hubby is happy that I am a fellow blogger now, but it is fun. Thank you so much for your help. I really do appreciate all the help!!!!!

My parents are in Arizona they retired last year and are now "Snowbirds." So we celebrated what we all called "Early Christmas" with them on November 29. As you can see both Rylee and Taylor had a good time. Not to say that TJ, Kasey and I didn't enjoy our gifts because we did. Heck who wouldn't enjoy money, especially when it is gold. Ha ha. It has been a tradition now for several years that each of us will receive a $25 roll of gold $1 coins for Christmas from Wilbur each year and this year was no exception. I know the question on everyones mind is where was Krystal during all of this fun??? Why didn't she join us? Well her and Carlene were sick. They did stop in for a few minutes, however I forgot to get my camera out. I guess maybe next year. Anyway I hope you are enjoying the weather in Arizona Mom and Wilbur. Merry Christmas. Love ya!!!!

Rylee's Christmas Photo's

Kasey and I had the girls pictures taken the Saturday after Thanksgiving. It is so much more fun now to have pictures taken now that I have a sister to go with that has a child too. The photographer thought that Rylee and Taylor were sisters (which seems to always be the case). Later when we were deciding which pictures we wanted, we explained that they were cousins. Kasey and I talked about it later and wondered if while she was taking the pictures if she thought we were a gay couple or who she thought was the mother of both the girls. Wow, sure is crazy to be thought of as a gay couple with your sister when we always have thought we looked a lot a like. Anyway, if you look in the corner of this blog you will see a slide show which will show a few of the pictures of our beautiful girls (spoiled rotten). Don't worry we will be sending out pictures to all of our friends and family soon. Love ya all. Merry Christmas.
